RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for the day-to-day ledger processes and responsibilities including:

- Monitoring daily communications and responding to queries
- Enter and manage Customer information on to a CRM Database / within an Account Software.
- Sales Ledger Accounts
- Raise and distribute sales invoices.
- Allocate sales receipts to customer accounts.
- Credit Control within terms as set by our credit insurers.
- Resolve queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Purchase Ledger Accounts
- 3 way checking of Supplier invoices against PO & GRNs.
- Supplier payment allocations (Multi currency).
- Process new suppliers.
- Maintaining accurate records of Pro forma and Prepayments to oversea suppliers.
- Bank Reconciliations

This role is ideally suited to an individual who is wanting to take the next step from a Ledger Clerk to assisting and working alongside our accountant, expanding your knowledge and expertise in preparing monthly accounts by:

- Checking nominal coding and corrections where necessary.
- Ensuring both Open Sales and Purchase Orders reconcile.
- Liaising with internal departments to ensure operations are not affected by non-processing of invoices or delays in resolving queries.
- Monthly reconciliations of HMRC returns for Imports / Exports.
- Monthly reconciliations of HMRC returns for Plastic Packaging Tax.
- Quarterly HMRC VAT Returns.
- Monthly Salary journals and Pension Scheme Management.
- Month End accounts by the 10th of following month. (Nominal reconciliations, Prepayments, Accruals, Journal Entries, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss (YTD & Monthly) Balance Sheet (YTD & Quarterly)
- Preparation of Year end accounts for audit.
- Provide support and advice regarding company, accounts and business procedures.
- Provide day to day inhouse IT / Software support.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately with ability to multi-task under pressure

Written and Verbal communication skills

Accounting software: Sage 50 / 200 or similar.

Data entry skills for accurately inputting and updating records.

Organisation skills for managing different task simultaneously.

Able to meet deadlines, determine priorities.

Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information

GCSE or equivalents in Maths / English

AAT Bookkeeping Level 2 or Accounting Level 2 would be most advantageous.

Alternatively Level 2 Certificates in Bookkeeping, Accounting, with equivalent (2 years) work experience in a similar role such as Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Payable / Bookkeeper will be considered.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
You MUST have a current & proven track record of attainment in accountancy and monthly, year end reconciliations.

It is PREFERABLE that you have previous experience of working in the packaging sector.

OUR BUSINESS:

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
