**Job Title**:Business Support Officer
**Hours**:32.5 Hours per week (including 30 minute lunch break) Monday to Friday
**Salary**:Competitive and Dependant on Experience
**Reporting to**:Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer
**Purpose of the job**
The Business Support Officer will offer administrative support to all members of the company. They will support the Company Executives, managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to the company, for example: HR, finance, and marketing. The Business Support Officer is responsible for confidential and time sensitive material.
The role of Business Support Officer for METIS is integral to the smooth running of the business since the support provided in this role allows the METIS Team to achieve its overall aims, knowing that all administrative duties are completed accurately and delivered to a high quality standard and in a timely manner.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Answer telephone and direct calls as appropriate
- Schedule meetings
- Minute meetings
- Maintain filing system
- Act as communication relay, making sure all parties receive necessary information and that this information is accurate
- Make travel arrangements
- Human Resource administrative tasks including managing staff leave sheets and inducting new starters
- To undertake basic financial support including purchase orders, good receipts, and invoices. This will be done with direction from the FD
- Managing personnel files
- Managing stationery and office supplies
- Assist in completing quality control audits in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System
- Update Quality Management System as required
- Assist with annual Quality audit to maintain ISO9001:2015 accreditation
- Update website with Company news.
**Marketing**
- Support marketing of METIS products including, press releases, website content and social media posts
- Organise exhibitions with BD Manager and liaise with suppliers to design brochures and stand graphics
- Occasionally represent METIS at exhibitions within the UK for three or four days away from home
- Assist the BD manager with a lead capture process to capitalise on exhibition attendance
- Oversee content for website press releases
- Award nominations and entries
- Organise team events

**Requirements**:
**Skills**
- Excellent organisational skills
- Able to take initiative
- Confident with the ability to ask questions and voice ideas in relation to improving business processes
- Capable of working on their own and as part of a team
- Task oriented
- Excellent communication skills - both orally and written
- Computer literate, including demonstrated competency of Microsoft packages
- English and Maths to a good standard (GCSE minimum Grade 6/Grade B)
- Team player, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
- Be versatile / flexible / organised to handle a broad spectrum of tasks and competing priorities
- Demonstrated keen attention to detail
**Experience**
- Strong administration experience
- Organising events
- Organising and booking travel arrangements
- Organising meetings, setting agendas, and keeping minutes
- Some experience of accounting software for inputting invoices
