**Salary**: c. £57,000 (Dependant on Skills and Experience) + company car or car allowance

**Location**: NFU Cymru Headquarters, Builth Wells with agile working

**Working Hours**:35 hours per week

NFU Cymru is the leading agricultural organisation that represents and champions all farmers and growers in Wales. NFU Cymru is part of The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) and is the biggest farming organisation in the UK. **Purpose of the role & how you will contribute**:
As Head of Operations, you will be a senior leader with primary responsibility to lead and motivate our membership team including our county advisers and group secretaries to deliver on our membership performance, connection and communication strategy across the whole of Wales. In addition, you will oversee our events offering including shows both locally and nationally.

**What you’ll bring**:
You will be experienced in developing and delivering strategy with an ability to drive member engagement and grow a membership base as well as the delivery of high-profile events and developing marketing and promotional plans with an ability to project plan. As a senior leader you will be a strong team player and have experience of managing, motivating, guiding, and coaching a team, with an ability to clearly communicate vision.

**Who we are**

We promote and protect the interests of our members by working with and influencing government in both Senedd Cymru and Westminster, the supply chain and consumers in order to secure a secure and sustainable future for Welsh farmers and growers. This means developing strong relationships with all our stakeholders and supporting our members through our network of local offices.

Our Operations team is the face of NFU Cymru to local members, our focus is to understand their day-to-day concerns and influence the local and national agendas on their behalf. It’s about developing strong working relationships with everyone from the members themselves to local councils, constituency MSs and MPs and central NFU Cymru & NFU teams.

Working as a part of the Operations Team demands the flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks, from recruiting and retaining members, to working with councils and other local agencies, or lobbying MSs & MPs. This diverse remit means we need to understand a wide range of farming, food, environmental and economic issues and be able to talk confidently about them with members and stakeholders at all levels.
