Job Introduction As part of the Living Barracks Project, the Berwick Record Office is undertaking some collections management work on its archives relating to North Northumberland. This post will assist with this work in preparation for the eventual move of the Archives to the Barracks in Berwick.
- You will be responsible for entering data into a new locations database, checking archival material and repackaging it as required.
- The Berwick Record Office is based in Berwick Library with a local outstore and operates as a branch office of the Northumberland Archives Services. We are a small flexible team
- We are looking for someone with an interest in archives who would like to learn more about looking after these collections.
- Berwick-upon-Tweed
- Band 2, 21 hours per week
- Fixed term for 6 months

**ROLE OF THE JOB**

The duties include
- updating the present locations database
- checking the contents of individual archives boxes
- repackaging items in conservation grade materials.
- working with other colleagues involved in the Living Barracks project in preparation for the future move of the collections
- helping us to assess what work needs to be done before transferring the collection to a new home

**REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB**
- No specific qualification required but an interest in archives is desirable
- Good IT skills and ability to work with spreadsheets
