Research Services works in partnership with our academic divisions, their departments and faculties, to support Oxford’s world class researchers. Our role is to facilitate excellence in research, engagement and innovation at Oxford.

This important new role as Community Engagement Coordinator will establish, build and embed relationships between the university and communities connected to us, through engaging them with our research.

Our approach to community engagement is based on listening to connected communities, understanding their circumstances and co-developing activities with our world-leading researchers.

**About the Role**

As Community Engagement Coordinator, you will take the lead in growing our community engagement work, improving how the university listens, responds to, and works with connected communities. Communities connected to us are diverse and include communities of place (e.g., people living in and around Oxford), communities of lived experience (e.g., patient groups, LGBTQ+ groups), and communities of practice (e.g., teachers) among others.

You will work with our researchers, drawing on their expertise in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, as well as our gardens, libraries and museums.

You will plan, develop, co-ordinate and evaluate a programme of activity that enables us to deliver our community engagement strategy.

**About You**

You will have a passion and a skill for working and engaging with communities, local officials and social enterprises, and others, underpinned by a genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

You will also have proven project management skills and the ability to working independently, taking the initiative to drive work forward.

You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a way that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
