Based in New Eltham, London, B&M McHugh Ltd facilitate the maintenance and development of the infrastructures within the rail, highways and civil engineering sectors and are currently recruiting for the role of HSQE Administrator.
Purpose & Function of the HSQE Administrator:
Undertake work as directed safely, efficiently and to the relevant standards under direction of the Head of HSQE providing administration support so that required levels of performance are delivered, including team objectives and KPI’s.
Tasks and Accountabilities:
Training: Booking of courses. Maintaining the Training matrix including monitoring for expiry dates to ensure all training is in date. Sentinel checks and co-ordination including booking medicals. FORS co-ordination. Present Induction Training.
Processes & Procedures:
Champion the use of Integrated Management System (IMS) and the OneNote system throughout the company and ensure the quality of information contained in these key systems is as required. Maintain and update NR standards and log. Distribute Company and Industry safety bulletin’s ensuring all are acknowledged, signed and registered. Induction administration. Safe System of Work documentation; ensure return from site, checked and logged as per 019. Maintain fire equipment register and schedule recertification appointments. Produce and maintain documents on IAuditor. Support HSQE initiatives and projects outside of assigned areas of responsibility as allocated by the Head of HSQE. Collaborate with teams and assist as required. Support the operational teams in the management of incidents and close calls as allocated. Support the operational teams in the deployment of environmental management procedures as required by the IMS to ensure that our activities do not have a detrimental effect on the environment.
Data Collection:
Monitor the company’s HSQE KPIs and report monthly on progress. Where areas of non-conformance or areas for improvement are identified ensure that these are raised and escalated as necessary to gain compliance and improvement. Maintain staff working hours data. Record Company usage of; Fuel, Electric, Water and Paper. Maintain waste monitoring database.
Audits:
Assist the Head of HSQE in external audits. Maintain the audit schedule and book audits internally. Own and keep updated the QSHE audit trackers and the like. Collecting and collating audit reports and tracking closure of all remedial actions identified in a timely fashion. Providing summary reports on current action status for management on a monthly basis.
Important Attributes:
The main qualities/experience for the role would be best suited to a strong administrator who has a high level of attention to detail and who has possibly come from a technical administrator or document controller type role. Ideally, you will have an interest in Health and Safety and be familiar with Quality Management Systems. Able to communicate effectively with strong literacy and numerical skills. An innovative thinker with confidence to work individually and contribute to a team. Carry out duties with due care and to the best of ability providing a positive contribution to the Company as a whole. The ability to coach and positively influence staff as to their HSQE responsibilities.
Essential:
Experience in a relevant administration role. A decent knowledge of FORS. Understand how to navigate Sentinel.
Strong IT skills;
- Sound levels and experiences in Excel, Word and Power Point
- A thorough understanding of macros
- Able to navigate and operate web portals
