**Team Leader**
Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highway related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 street lights and 2955 bridges.
We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to be based within Countywide Highways Support Services at Cuerden (Bamber Bridge). The post is 37 hours per week, but you will need to be flexible and agile to ensure the needs of the business are met and be able to travel around to other operational depots when required such as; Cuerden, Whalley, Wrightington, Singleton, Caton, Burnley and Rossendale.
Reporting to the Highways Support Manager, the team leader role supervises a large team of Highways Countywide Support Services staff engaged in specialised technical administration to deliver an efficient and effective Highways Support Service meeting key deadlines, targets and deliverables. The team also deliver a high-quality highway service experience for customers and stakeholders countywide in line with the service key themes:

The role will primarily line manage and co-ordinate the work of two teams;
- Stores team x 8 FTE's who issue and replenish stock items to the operatives, sub-contractors, managers and other LCC staff such as PPE, tools, consumables. The stores officer are all depot based across 7 highway depots.
Highways Requisition Team x 10 FTE's who request and process for payment all highway supplier invoices, credit notes and statements.
The team leader will predominantly be a people manager and you will manage the workload and performance of staff and the two teams, following council policies and procedures e.g., 1-2-1's, holding team meetings, attendance monitoring and performance engagements, induction, and training of staff, producing safety awareness talks, sickness, disciplinary and grievance matters. You will possess the experience to provide specialist & technical administrative support/advice to the team. You must also be able to process data and pull information from systems to be able assist managers, engineers, staff, and front-line operatives delivering a highway services.
