Milestone Infrastructure Ltd is currently looking to recruit Highways Operatives to work on our Devon Highways contract in South Molton & Tiverton.
As a/the Highways Operative you will be part of our Devon Highways Team who are responsible for work as part of a team undertaking a range of groundwork and specialist highway maintenance activities.
Devon Highways contract we are looking t recruit Highways Maintenance Operatives to work as part of a team undertaking a range of groundwork and specialist highway maintenance activities.
- To work as part of operations crew undertaking various labouring duties including excavation works, laying and levelling of kerbs, slabs and bitumen macadam, drainage and gully installations
- To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of own and other persons and to comply with all local and statutory Health & Safety procedures
- To operate small plant and equipment used in highway maintenance with guidance and the appropriate certificates.
- To install traffic management under instruction in accordance with method statements
- To ensure that work undertaken is in line with company standards
- To respond to customers both internal and external in a courteous and helpful manner.
- To ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored in the appropriate manner
- To ensure that all paperwork is completed fully and in accordance to the deadlines
- To maintain a professional appearance appropriate to the work environment.
- To undertake any duty that may be properly deemed by the Agent
- To participate in an out of hours emergency call out system covering the Devon Highways Services network
- To participate in Winter Services duties as required
As the Highways Operative your duties & responsibilities will be:
- To promote health and safety culture and be responsible for undertaking works in a safe and compliant manner
- To be responsible for undertaking programmed maintenance works as directed by the Agent
- To assist in the improvement and maintenance of the network asset
- To undertake emergency call out as directed
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Previous experience of work on the highway
- Experience/Certificated for operating small plant
- Traffic Management qualification Preferred
- NRSWA
- Clean driving licence
- LGV/HGV Driving licence
Additional Information
- You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
- You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
- You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
