**We are currently recruiting a**
**Highways Technician **within **Environmental Services **at **Lancashire County Council **.
This is a dynamic, innovative team involved in creating, managing, and maintaining a variety of landscapes across the county. We deliver landscape projects of all scales across the whole of Lancashire alongside our highways colleagues and other LCC departments. The team also provides a high quality grounds maintenance service to our corporate partners ensuring facilities such as care homes, children's centres and libraries benefit from well-maintained outdoor environments.
We have demonstrated our capabilities to deliver valued and high-profile schemes as well as improve the quality of Lancashire County Council facilities. This success has gained stakeholder confidence which has meant we are now the "Provider of Choice" for Highways Projects in Lancashire and have a strong working partnership with all our colleagues in Lancashire County Council.
**What we are looking for **
**Industry Knowledge **We are seeking individuals with a passion for managing and improving landscapes to join our fantastic Environmental Services Team - so if you have experience of leading grounds maintenance teams and delivering landscape projects then we'd love you to join our team. You'll have up to date knowledge surrounding environmental issues, horticultural techniques and an understanding of the legal constraints and requirements associated with vegetation management and the equipment needed to maintain it. You'll have the eagerness and energy to work in a fast-paced environment whilst having the acumen to manage budgets, resources and provide clear, concise information to ensure our services are delivered to the highest standard.
**Inspirational, Resilient Leadership **You'll be a self-motivated individual with the ability to lead and inspire others in your team as you'll share knowledge, engage others, and encourage group participation to review and respond to the work the team undertakes. Your positive approach will help your team feel valued whilst your approachable nature will help open professional discussions to ensure projects and long-term maintenance plans are understood and managed correctly. In addition, your resilience will enable you to respond to changes in work programmes promptly preparing for the unexpected events such as weather and other emerging incidents.

As it’s a frontline service you'll relate and communicate daily to a variety of customers such as residents, colleagues, and partners, including our own and other council members. Therefore, how you present and communicate information will be essential as it will be open to scrutiny and debate - so you'll be organised, aware and have confidence in all elements of the work we undertake whilst having a sufficient understanding and adherence to industry regulations and legislation.
