**Function of the Post**: This is a fixed term post as a Speech Language Senior Lecturer within a dynamic school. As a Senior Lecturer, the post holder will develop the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate degree and Level 6 degree apprenticeship course and take this through a successful accreditation working closely with and developing relationships with employer partners. There will then be the opportunity to become the Programme Leader on successful accreditation and recruitment for the course. The appointed post holder will have knowledge, experience and skills within the field of Speech & Language Therapy and ideally experience of delivering education programmes alongside extensive partnership liaison experience.

You will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the Universitys student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. Youll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible. Principal Accountabilities: As a Senior Lecturer the working year may be divided between teaching, teaching-related administration, programme co-ordination, assessment, research and income generation activities in such proportions as may be decided by the Head of the School of Nursing and Allied Health after appropriate consultation, in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Terms and Conditions of Employment for academic staff.

You will take responsibility for the development of Speech and Language therapy education in the school. You will demonstrate a focus on enhancing the student experience of programmes; providing students with a high-quality, research informed educational experience leading to an understanding of healthcare practice and the achievement of both academic and professional qualifications. You will lead developments in response to the professional and interprofessional agendas, and support collaborations with clinical colleagues to develop and prepare appropriate clinical placements including educational audit and clinical liaison. The role will also involve a contribution to the wider Institute of Applied Sciences, including income generation activities, student recruitment and, where appropriate, support other departments within the University Learning and Teaching Lead the curriculum development in the context of Speech and Language; Take sole responsibility for the design of teaching materials and delivery across a range of modules within the School of Nursing and Allied Health; Contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material; Support and liaise with clinical practice partners in supporting student work-related learning Transfer knowledge in the form of practical skills, methods and techniques and engage with the Simulated Based Education development; Take responsibility for programme co-ordination as appropriate.

Managing people Depending on the area of work, the post holder could be expected to manage, co-ordinate and/or supervise the work of others; Support and mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on their personal development relating to teaching and/or research and/or income generation and taking account of relevant professional frameworks (e.g. UK Professional Standards Framework and the Researcher Development Framework); Co-ordinate the work of others to ensure modules are delivered to the standards required; Act as a mentor for students in capacity of Academic advisor.
