**Principal Accountabilities**: As a lecturer or (Senior Lecturer) in this specific role, the focus will be on developing the curriculum, assessment strategies, teaching resources, placement and developing partnerships and working with other team members. You will work with the curriculum coach in taking the responsibility for the development of Speech and Language therapy education in the school. You will demonstrate a focus on enhancing the student experience of programmes; providing students with a high-quality, research informed educational experience leading to an understanding of healthcare practice and the achievement of both academic and professional qualifications. You will lead developments in response to the professional and interprofessional agendas.

You will work with the placement lecturer to support collaborations with clinical colleagues to develop and prepare appropriate clinical placements including educational audit and clinical liaison. The role may also involve a contribution to the wider Institute of Applied Sciences, including income generation activities, student recruitment and, where appropriate, support other departments within the University. Learning and Teaching: Work with the curriculum coach to design an innovative Speech and Language Therapy course; Work with the curriculum coach to design the teaching materials and delivery across a range of modules within the School of Nursing and Allied Health; Contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material; Support and liaise with clinical practice partners in supporting student work-related learning Transfer knowledge in the form of practical skills, methods and techniques and engage with the Simulated Based Education development; Assist with the development of the design and delivery of modules and assessment methods, working closely with colleagues on the implementation of assessment procedures, participating in the examination/assessment process. Identify learning needs of students and develop appropriate learning outcomes; Prepare well-constructed, varied teaching sessions, Ensuring that content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet the defined learning outcomes; Embrace the importance and value of engaging in the task of education and learning together with students at all academic levels to ensure an outstanding learning experience.

**Teamwork**: Act as a responsible team member, leading where agreed, and develop productive working relationships with other members of academic and professional services staff; Co-ordinate the work of colleagues to identify and respond to students needs; Lead on the accreditation of courses and quality control processes within the department; Contribute to and/or lead on team and departmental meetings and/or committees internally or externally; Contribute to the development of new systems and procedures; Work with colleagues and students to sustain and strengthen an inclusive, supportive, caring and authentic learning community. Managing people: Support and mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on their personal development relating to teaching and/or research and/or income generation and taking account of relevant professional frameworks (e.g. UK Professional Standards Framework and the Researcher Development Framework); Manage own teaching, scholarly and administrative activities with guidance if required. Act as a mentor for students in the capacity of Academic Advisor.

Supervise students, understand their learning requirements and develop appropriate learning outcomes. Work collaboratively and effectively with others to support project outcomes(For Senior Lecturer) Depending on the area of work, the post holder could be expected to manage, co-ordinate and/or supervise the work of others; Support and mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on their personal development relating to teaching and/or research and/or income generation and taking account of relevant professional frameworks (e.g. UK Professional Standards Framework and the Researcher Development Framework); Co-ordinate the work of others to ensure modules are delivered to the standards required; Pastoral care: Develop and use listening, interpersonal and pastoral care skills to act as first line support to students, referring them as appropriate to internal and external services providing further help and advice; Appreciate the needs of individual students and their circumstances; Support students in developing their resilience to be able to take responsibility and overcome the various challenges they will face including personal, economic, mental, physical etc Planning and managing resources: As module co-ordinator, liaise with others (such as professional services staff or academic colleagues) to ensure student needs and expectations are met; Manage projects relating to own area of work and/or outside the department; Be responsible for administrative duties in own
