- Job description- As a London Incident Advisor you will be at the forefront of incident preparation, training and exercising in London. This is an exciting multi-functional role focussing on the full range of incidents the Environment Agency responds to from flooding, to environmental incidents and business continuity risks.
You will help to ensure we are prepared and ready for incidents that impact London. You will focus specifically on training and exercising activities both internally with our key duty officers and externally with our partners. You will have a key role in engaging with the London Resilience Partnership and across Borough Resilience Forums.
You will champion and facilitate pan London working internally and will work closely with Hertfordshire & North London (HNL) and Kent, South London & East Sussex (KSLES) Area Incident Team colleagues ensuring we are continuously improving and learning from past incidents. You will engage with Incident Management colleagues across areas and nationally with the Centre of Excellence to utilise good practice and ensure consistency of approach.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and workplace adjustments will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- Our Area Incident Team (AIT) represents an evolutionary change in how we work to prepare and respond to increasing threats and natural hazards as a result of the climate emergency.
You will be part of the London AIT within London Area. We are a small team working closely with the operational areas in Hertfordshire and North London and Kent and South London AITs.

is able to prioritise a varied workload whilst maintaining your own personal resilience;
identifies and communicates key issues quickly and effectively;
is good at working under pressure, flexibly and at pace.
