Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for this full-time fixed-term position within NWORTH Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at Bangor University.

The post-holder will support the development, testing, deployment, maintenance and on-going user support of any new NWORTH IT systems and services required for research projects. This includes Ennov MACRO Electronic Data Capture Systems (EDCS) and web-based randomisation systems for specific research projects.

Excellent IT skills are required and knowledge of SPSS or SQL would be an advantage. Experience of software development within an object orientated programming language would also be desirable. An understanding of health research or experience of working in a health research environment would be an advantage.

The post-holder will be accountable to the NWORTH Director, Dr Zoe Hoare and will report to Dr Kirstie Pye, the CTU Manager.

North Wales Organisation for Randomised Trials in Health (NWORTH):
The North Wales Organisation for Randomised Trials in Health and Social Care is a CTU which has full UKCRC registration. The CTU is part funded by the Welsh Government via Health and Care Research Wales. The mission of the Unit is to conduct clinical trials and studies of complex interventions of the highest quality, delivering research with impact and advancing methodological developments in clinical trials research. With a history of successful design and delivery of pragmatic trials of complex interventions, NWORTH provides a wide range of research and development opportunities for its staff.

Purpose of the Job

The post holder will facilitate research capacity at NWORTH. They will provide technical capacity and support to the IT team at the CTU to enhance the capacity of the Unit’s trial delivery function.
