Looking for a challenge? Diabeticare is an award-winning outpatient unit specialising in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine.
We are looking for a Medical Secretary and Pathway Coordinator to work alongside the unit secretary, clerical officers and an Office Manager/Unit administrator.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their skills and work as part of a team in the multidisciplinary unit. The post holder will support the submission of national diabetic audits, team and consultants. This post is very busy and will consist of record keeping, supporting patient pathway progress, minute taking and some diary management.
An interview date is yet to be confirmed.
The post holder will work closely with Consultants and Specialist Diabetic Nurses, to lead on the management of data bases used for the National Diabetic Footcare Audit, National Core Diabetes Audit and National Diabetes Inpatient Harms Audit. They will ensure all suitable patient information is captured, recorded accurately and submitted, in a timely way. These clinical audits enable Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust (THH) to measure performance against the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines, for people with diabetes.
Working with THH eProcurement and NHS England the post holder will procure insulin pump and associated consumables supplies. Insulin pumps offer flexible insulin therapy, when used in conjunction with blood glucose monitoring and carbohydrate counting, for treating diabetes mellitus.
The post holder is responsible for providing a high standard of professionalism in a patient focused service, to support activities related to patient pathways and to participate in general office duties, including covering administrative/clerical work when staff are on leave.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services, including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit, and outpatient clinics.
The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is paramount and we are making urgent improvements to address this - particularly in infection prevention and control. We are making progress by working in partnership with local GPs, charities, community services, academic partners, our local authority, neighbouring hospitals, and the wider North West London Integrated care system, and ensuring that we listen and work in partnership with our local population. We are focused on ensuring that our hospitals provide high quality, safe, and compassionate care, while we drive forward with the building of the new Hillingdon Hospital.
We have over 3,500 members of staff that are proud to care for nearly half a million people, with a vision to be an outstanding provider of healthcare through leading health and academic partnerships, transforming services, to provide the best care where needed.
