We are looking for a Ward Secretary to assist with the daily administration of our Inpatient Wards based at The Wells Road Centre.

This is a new and exciting post and we are looking for a motivated and skilled person to be able to join and be part of the ward teams providing administrative support for all levels.

The Wells Road Centre is an Inpatient Unit with 5 wards currently
- Trent Ward (Male Admissions / Initial Assessment) - 13 beds.
- Thurland Ward (Male Mental Illness - Rehabilitation)
- 20 beds
- Lister Ward (Male mental Illness - Rehabilitation) - 20 beds
- Lister Ward (Male Intellectual Disability ) - 16 Beds
- Seacole (Women’s Ward) - 15 Beds

To assist with the day to day administration for the inpatient wards based at The Wells Road Centre. the role will cover over the 5 wards and provide cover for the other Ward Secretaries as and when required.

The duties will include, ordering of stock, minute taking at meetings, general administration of all requirements to assist with the smooth running of the wards daily.

The Directorate provides a service to adult men and women who pose a risk of harm to others in the context of their mental health.
Our service is underpinned by the concept of ‘Recovery’ which is not simply related to a desire to be ‘cured’ from symptoms but is seen as a process of moving forward in which a person may continue to experience symptoms but is able to focus on the same needs and activities as those without a diagnosis such as housing, work, recreation, education, and social inclusion within a context of hope and optimism.

**The main duties of the role are**:
- Minute taking at the ward meetings weekly

Liaising with the MDT and Medical Secretaries on a daily basis.

Working with the Mental Health Act administrators to ensure all key paperwork is correct and in order.

Ordering of stock for the wards.

To participate fully as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
To provide secretarial and admin support to the ward team and to provide cross cover to all wards as and when required.
Maintain confidential patient healthcare records in line with Trust policies and the Data Protection Act
To provide support to the MDT in relation to environmental / housekeeping responsibilities.
