**Beaconsfield Medical Practice**
**Job Title - Receptionist**
**Reports to - Reception Manager**
**Main Purpose of the Role**:
To ensure that enquiries from patients are handled efficiently and courteously and in a timely manner.
Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
**Main Duties**
**Reception**
To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures/adhere to protocols
Receive patients at front desk; dealing with all queries and requests including taking payment for any non
GMS work carried out by the surgery
Deal with all telephone enquiries including booking appropriate appointments
Process appointment requests efficiently and courteously via telephone and in person
Registration of new patients; following procedures and protocols in place
Be able to process computer data; including change of address ensuring they are still within Practice area
Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with Practice guidelines
Action incoming tasks
Clear rooms after surgeries
Check waiting area tidy
Ensure that all messages/information is correctly relayed and in a timely manner
Process any administrative tasks associated with Role
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Assist in maintaining high levels of infection control
**Other Duties**
Provide holiday/sickness cover for reception
Attend training courses and meetings as required to ensure you have the skills and information to carry out the role effectively
Assist Admin team with Quality Outcome Framework (QOF)
All staff must familiarise themselves with the staff handbook which includes all aspects of H&S / confidentiality / data protection etc

It is not essential that the person appointed has NHS experience; Good customer service skills plus an ability to work methodically with a keen eye for detail and good IT skills is more important

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week
