**About the Practice/Department/Team**

Lakeside St Neots is a friendly surgery run by doctors, nurses and associated staff who know their patients and care deeply about the quality of health provided to our community. We build upon this by investing in people, facilities and equipment to provide services that are more accessible, more convenient and more diverse within the local community. We are a forward thinking, progressive organisation offering primary care services to the people of St Neots and surrounding villages. We are a large practice with a population approaching 25,000 patients. We are a great team and welcome the challenges that a busy practice brings.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused colleague to join our practice reception team. Providing patient-facing support, you will help patients access and navigate our services, ensuring that they are seen by the right clinician at the right time.

Great communication skills, effective teamwork and a flexible approach are essential for this rewarding role.

**What you will do**

You will be assisting and directing patients toward the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Main duties include:

- Processing appointment requests from patients for on the day and future appointments
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery
- Registration of new patients - computer data entry and medical records
- Ensure building security

**Essential Criteria**
- Have the ability to manage and demonstrate values of care and respect towards patients
- Great customer service skills
- Experience of working in a busy environment & multi-functional team
