To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team as directed by the management team.

Duties can include but are not limited to supporting the administration and receptionist teams with booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy), patient registration, in a timely manner and in accordance with current policies.

To support staff with the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

**The following are the core responsibilities of the Medical Administrator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels**:
a. Process incoming and outgoing mail

b. File and store records as required

c. Photocopy documentation as required

d. Process and distribute incoming urgent actions

e. Manage any administrative queries as necessary

f. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary

g. Support patients with their ongoing healthcare needs by making appropriate appointments within the required timeframe

h. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers’ requests appropriately, providing excellent patient care at all times

i. Welcome patients and visitors to the organisation, directing requests appropriately

j. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

k. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested

**In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Medical Administrator may be requested to**:
a. Partake in audit as directed by the management team

b. Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absences

c. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota if necessary

d. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels

Customer service, administration experience and excellent communication skills are essential.

Salary is dependant on experience.

Pension is now 23% employer contributions which is a huge benefit to receive by working in the NHS.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 37 per week
