Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost 100 years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.

These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change. **About the Role**
- See Me is Scotland’s national programme to end mental health stigma and discrimination. The programme is funded by the Scottish Government, and jointly managed by SAMH and the Mental Health Foundation. See Me’s current strategy, with Fairness in Mind, has three areas of focus.
- Communications, policy and public affairs
- Communities and priority groups
- Priority settings

The Project Officer (workplace) role sits with in See Me’s Settings team, which seeks to influence and support positive change in the organisations and settings where people tell us they experience higher levels of stigma and discrimination as a result of mental ill health. The team works to engage and empower people with experience of mental health problems to raise awareness and understanding of mental ill health and to call out and take action on the stigma and discrimination people experience when accessing or engaging in services and support.

**What we are looking for**

The post holder will work with workplaces, partners and people with lived experience of mental health problems to take forward projects and activities to improve attitudes, reduce prejudice and influence positive change in employment practice and culture.

This post holder should have excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills to encourage more employers to take action on stigma and discrimination. Through strong project and client management they will support employers to access and use See Me’s tools and resources and to share learning of the impact that is made as a result. They should be flexible and able to work confidently in partnerships, with colleagues across the programme and independently to achieve the programmes goals.
