Sicsa Project and Events Officer

**Job Purpose**
The Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) is a collaboration of 14 Scottish Universities and three Scottish Innovation Centres. SICSA promotes international excellence in University-led research, education, and knowledge exchange for Scottish Informatics and Computer Science. The Project & Events Officer will work in the SICSA team to lead on small - medium projects and events and support large-scale projects and events. The postholder will also provide comprehensive administrative and marketing support to the SICSA Executive Officer on all SICSA activities.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. To work closely with the SICSA Directors, the Executive Officer and multiple stakeholders to identify potential funding opportunities from internal and external research funding bodies. Take the lead on project management for a range of small - medium sized grant-funded projects and contribute to the development and communication of outcomes and impact.
2. Responsible for leading on small - medium sized events such as Research Theme workshops and activities, SGA workshops and to provide support for large SICSA events such as the annual PhD Conference, including event planning, monitoring events budgets, implementing publicity campaigns for all events, liasing with stakeholders and preparing detailed post-event evaluation reports to inform future best practice.
3. Preparing for and running various SICSA Committees through the provision of a high quality administration; including the fortnightly SICSA Directorate Zoom meetings; SICSA Committee (Board of Governance); SICSA International Advisory Board, SICSA Research Committee and the SICSA PhD Conference Committee.
4. Working with SICSA colleagues across Scottish institutions and Innovation Centres to develop and implement administrative systems and procedures to ensure effective operation on a day to day basis. Reviewing systems and procedures regularly according to changing service objectives.
5. Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with key academics and stakeholders that align with SICSA 3.0 Vision and Activities.
6. Responsible for designing promotional materials using relevant specialist software, implementing promotional campaigns, proactively contributing to SICSA Social Media, continually developing the SICSA web site, and writing and disseminating relevant news to our stakeholders and beyond.
7. Provide high level administration for all aspects of SICSA - including SICSA Graduate Academy, Education, Research and Knowledge Exchange activities; liaising with stakeholders at all levels and independently managing workload in order to meet deadlines.

**Essential**:
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role, or ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar related role(s).
A2 Up-to-date knowledge of University and Scottish Higher Education issues.
**Desirable**:
B1 Familiarity with the challenges of working within a complex, multi-partner research project.
B2 Knowledge of the University systems (such as Agresso).

E1 Relevant practical experience in a similar or related roles with qualifications noted above, or evidence of progression and development gained through appropriate period of relevant work experience.
E2 Experience of organising and managing all levels of events, and high-level meetings.
E3 Experience of developing, implementing and delivering projects.
E4 Experience of budgetary management and monitoring.
E5 Experience of managing project deliverables, KPIs, and writing reports.
