**Role Summary**

As part of our expansion, we’re now looking for an additional Purchasing Assistant to join our team and support the Purchasing Manager to ensure the correct products arrive at the correct place at the correct time.

You will be taking control of purchase orders and the relationship with the vendors and freight companies to support our goal of becoming the best furniture company by ensuring we have the optimum amount of stock to support the business strategy.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Include but not limited to**:

- Entering and/or overseeing the processing of purchase orders. Ensuring they are correct and sent to suppliers on time.
- Coordinating with freight companies to ensure PO’s are shipped on time.
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure we get the best service possible.
- Use stock availability data to make the best decisions possible when faced with changes to PO’s caused by supply issues.
- Recommendations to ensure we do not have overstock or stockouts. This will be achieved by having a knowledge of forecasting and demand planning.
- Ensuring PO’s have the correct factory costs.
- Identifying issues early and reporting them to the Purchasing Manager with supporting information and recommendations
- Managing the inbound freight calendar to ensure the 500+ containers we require annually can be managed by the warehouse team.
- Supporting all teams within the business from Customer Experience to Accounts and Marketing.
