Empowering Learning are supporting a Secondary school based in Northamptonshire, seeking to appoint a School Business Manager to the join their support team from January 2023 on an initial 6 month fixed term contract, with the potential to transfer to apermanent role for the right person.

As the School Business Manager, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational leadership and management for support functions in the school, aswell as ensuring the smooth operation and timely delivery of all support services, enabling theschool to operate effectively and efficiently.

The school is on its journey towards becoming Ofsted 'Good', with rapid improvements and all involved being relentlessly focussed on providing stimulating learning experience for all students. Staff actively encourage students to participate in all areasof academy life, motivating and inspiring them to unlock their potential and realise their ambitions. They believe education is about more than achieving success in exams; it is about preparing students for the challenges and demands of life beyond education.They have an uncompromising commitment to this and work closely with one another to support and develop students as well as one another.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**

- Degree in business management or a School Business Management qualification
- Responsible for line-managing support staff, including carrying out long-term resource planning and managing recruitment, appraisal and professional development
- Within the approved budgets, lead on financial matters as delegated to schools to ensure all decisions are clearly linked to the Trust and school's strategic goals.
- Implement school-wide changes and allocate resources in line with the school improvement plan, putting policies and procedures in place and communicating them to staff
- Working with the Executive Principal, Principal and Finance Business Partner, help manage the school budget, ensuring it follows the guidance provided, is balanced, realistic, and represents an effective use of public funds
- Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, ensure the effective and efficient operation of the finance department, delegating tasks where appropriate.
- Ensure that recruitment, appraisal, disciplinary and grievance policies are administered in accordance with BWT policies and procedures
- Advise on HR issues within school and liaise with the HR Administrator, external HR provider and Trust HR Manager for support
- Conduct reviews of the school's staffing structure to ensure effective deployment of staff and financial efficiency
- Under the direction of the Chief Operations and Resources Officer (CORO), manage the school's compliance with health and safety regulations, and follow Trust processes and procedures to ensure the safety of all in the school

Hours: 37 Hours. 52 Weeks per year

**Salary**: FTE £41,900
