Core Camhs Practitioner and Cyp Iapt Trainee

Lincoln, United Kingdom Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We have three newly created and exciting posts within Lincolnshire’s Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (LPFT CAMHS).

This is initially a 12 month funded Children and Young People - Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) training post giving the successful applicant the opportunity to do an 12 month Systemic training with Northampton University alongside working within a very well established and well respected Community CAMH service.

LPFT CAMHS has been rated “Outstanding” 2 years in a row by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The training involves teaching blocks as well as weekly teaching and supervision days at Northampton University. Some of the teaching provided by Northampton University will be provided remotely but you must be willing and able to travel to Northampton for the face-to-face teaching and assessment days. In addition, you should be willing to travel within the Lincolnshire area for work.

You must have a relevant degree and a core profession; with appropriate professional registration, as detailed on the attached Job Description and Person Specification. You will need to evidence experience of working with children, young people and families as well as evidence knowledge of mental health services.

You cannot be accepted onto the training programme if you are currently undertaking studies elsewhere and/or are registered with another university.

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire. Employing around 2,800 staff, and serving a population of over 766,000, our people lie at the heart of everything we do.

You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England. We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of ‘outstanding’ for well-led and ‘good’ overall. In the most recent National NHS Staff Survey, our staff rated us as the number one trust nationally for staff morale and one of the top scoring NHS Trusts in the Midlands for being compassionate and inclusive. We’re really proud of this

We offer options for flexible working and provide a wide range of training and promotion opportunities in all professions. We support and celebrate diversity, have active staff networks groups and are always looking at what more we can do to support our staff.

The clinical work during the CYP IAPT training involves being part of a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team where you will carry a caseload of systemic cases during training and will access weekly systemic supervision.

On successful completion of the CYP IAPT training you will work full time as a CAMHS practitioner within CAMHS and will have a generic caseload. You will be supported in continuing to work systemically but will also be expected to be able to provide CAMHS assessments and provide other evidence based therapeutic interventions - individual and group based.

Please note that in this instance the training is not optional and there will be a joint interview process with the University of Northampton to appoint to this role and the role is dependent on meeting all course requirements.

All applicants will need to be available to start working for LPFT CAMHS in January and will need to attend LPFT’s mandatory induction training. The formal training with Northampton University will start in February 2023 with a minimum of 2 days per week attendance initially.

Please note the following HEE funding policy applies to this post:
- The 2-year Psychological Professions Funding Rule The ‘2-year psychological professions funding rule’ is based on the principle that once an individual has commenced an NHS-funded psychological professions training programme, a 2- year period will be required to pass from the expected completion date of that training before the funded individual would be eligible for further NHS funding to train in another psychological profession training (where this leads to a change of occupation). Notes: 1. The 2-year timeframe is taken from the date of the qualifying exam board (or the date individual award is formally recommended by chair’s action post-exam board) of one course to the start date for teaching of the next course to be undertaken. 2. The rule applies to any individual who starts and subsequently completes, withdraws or fails to complete the qualifying requirements of a training programme.

Please consult the HEE’s website for further information.
