**What we are looking for**

We are looking for an experienced radiation protection professional with a desire to work in a collaborative culture that values equality, diversity and inclusion. Working with a variety of multi-disciplinary teams to provide excellent service and to continuouslyimprove our radiation protection capability.

ISIS produces radiation as a by-product of its operational activities; prompt radiation from high energy proton, neutron and muons beams, and the radiation and radioactive contamination coming from the activation of various solid materials, liquids and gases(airborne).

**Essential aspects you need to be great in this role**:

- Have significant practical health physics experience, underpinned by applicable formal qualifications.
- Enjoy seeking out areas of development to continuously improve our capabilities, take on challenges and inspire change.
- Be a good communicator with an ability to communicate effectively, written and oral, for a wide range of stakeholders.
- Have good IT skills, including MS Office. Be used to working with, and manipulating data in spreadsheets, producing formal written information, reports and presentations.
- Must be physically able to access areas including tunnels, walkways, and areas at height. Work in designated controlled radiation and contamination areas as a classified radiation worker. Wear personal and respiratory protective equipment as required.
- Be willing to join in the team's out of hours support roster, including responding to radiological incidents including RADSAFE response.
- Be willing to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas and hold a UK driving license.

**Desirable aspects that would make you better suited to this role**
- Good understanding of radiological protection issues affecting high-energy (proton) accelerator facilities.
- Experience in emergency response and recovery arrangements for radiological incidents
- Detailed understanding of selection, use operation and maintenance of radiological instrumentation
- Basic programming knowledge (macros) and data (statistical) analysis capabilities.
- Some experience participating in HSE/ONR/EA inspections.
- Some Project Management experience.
- Member of the Society for Radiological Protection.
- NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
