Are you a qualified mental health nurse passionate about mental health and supporting people with severe mental illness towards their recovery in their community?

We are seeking a mental health nurse to join our friendly, skilled and experienced multidisciplinary team in Didcot.

We would welcome applications from both clinicians seeking a post at Band 6, or a newly qualified nurse interested in the role as a developmental post. This would mean coming into the post as a Band 5 nurse with additional support and a protected workload, and us supporting you to develop into a Band 6.

Main duties of the job

The role will also involve working collaboratively with people under the care of the Adult Mental Health Team. There will be a combination of brief pieces of work, and also working with people who require longer-term follow-up. You will be playing a crucial role as part of an multi-disciplinary team in that person's recovery.

This role will also involve assessing people newly referred into the team, providing follow-up as required. The assessments will usually be completed with a colleague, and you will be able to consult with the wider team (including with medics) following your assessments.

As a team we are aiming to provide an excellent service for our local community, and are seeking candidates who share our passion and enthusiasm.

You will need to be able to work autonomously in being able to hold a caseload of patients. You will have experience with the CPA process (albeit this is a model being moved away from nationally in the coming weeks) and able to assess and plan treatment with service users. You will also be able to critically assess and manage risk, including the use of Safeguarding processes.
