Workshop Controller

**Are you an ambitious Workshop Controller or experienced Motor Vehicle Technician that is driven to progress your career within a premium automotive retailer?**
**The Role**:
We are looking for a Workshop Controller ‘with a difference’, this unique role plays an important part to improve customer experience, efficiency and minimize costs.
**The key responsibilities include**:
- Overseeing and supporting a team of Technicians
- Ensuring all incoming work is planned and the workshop schedule is managed effectively
- Assigning work to Technicians and ensuring maximum productivity is being achieved
- Being available as the first line of support to take over the job if necessary or balance the team
- Identify areas of improvement in order to achieve the objectives
- Responsible for pre-checking and following the daily planning for the team, in order to predict the need for support.
- Conducting the daily team meeting
- Coaching and supporting Technicians with both technical and administrative issues
**Skills & Personal Qualities**:
- Qualified as a Vehicle Technician to a minimum of Level 2 certified
- Have experience in managing and administering a productive team
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership and identify problems within the workshop and understand how to resolve them
- Must have a ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to prioritise / organise work to ensure the workshop runs smoothly
- Strong communication is essential - you are the central person who service, parts and technicians will report too and therefore must be able to give quick solutions to any issues
- Ability to identify and analyse issues in order to maximise productivity
- Technically minded with creative and open mind
**Salary & Other Benefits**:
- **BASIC SALARY** up to **£33,500** per year
- **PLUS ACHIEVABLE BONUS** up to **£3,600 **per year based on overall Workshop Team efficiency
- **(OTE £37,100)**:
- **PLUS ANY OVERTIME** capped at £15.00 per hour
- On Site Parking
- Pension
**Hours of Work**:
- 42 total hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break
- Every other Saturday: 8.30pm - 12.30pm
