Derbyshire Youth Justice Service has two newly created vacancies for a Family support Worker to work with children and young peple in relation to education, training and employment opportunities and to work with victims to ensure their voice is heard.

Derbyshire Youth Justice Service works with young people aged 10-17 on both court orders and out of court disposals. We operate under a trauma informed approach. We recently had a HMIP inspection with an outcome of good and now want to further develop our service offer to children at risk of offending. **What will I be doing**:
ETE

To achieve this you will provide universal support for children and young people to achieve their full potential in learning and work to include:

- Removing barriers to ETE
- Preparing and supporting young people to access and engage in ETE
- Sourcing suitable ETE opportunities
- Establish and maintain links with external ETE providers within Derbyshire
- Liaison with other agencies within Derbyshire County Council (DCC) to ensure young people of school age receive the statutory 25 hours of education and their special educational needs are being met.

You will also monitor the ETE status of all young people receiving interventions with the Youth Justice Service and ensure accurate returns are compiled and sent to the Youth Justice Board (YJB) as part of regular performance data returns.

Restorative Practitioner

You will work with victims of crime to ensure that their voice and wishes are captured in all assessments and reports. This will include:

- Liaising with victims to gather their experiences of what has happened to them and the outcomes they would like. This will be either through telephone contact or face to face.
- Supporting victims to attend Referral Order panel meetings if they request to do so
- Undertake restorative meetings between the victim and the young person if both parties agree.
- Monitor data regarding victim views and wishes

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
