**Job Title: Human Resources Officer**

**Reports to - General Manager - Based in Witney, Oxfordshire**

**Hours 20-24 per week - Part time - Monday to Thursday**

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in supporting our staff and volunteers throughout our retail outlets as well as contributing towards out charitable objectives.

Our charity shops are vital in supporting Forces Support's aim to support the families and dependants of service personnel who have lost their lives whilst serving in the British Armed Forces.

It would not be possible for the Charity to support these causes without our committed teams in our retail stores.

We are looking for an HR Officer to help support and develop our HR functions within the Charity. You will play a key role in ensuring our HR services are excellent, including recruitment, onboarding, supporting grievances and disciplinary's and payroll preparation. This key role will help maintain a positive and inclusive environment for everyone

**The objectives of the charity are**:
To provide support to the families and dependants of service personnel who have lost their lives whilst serving in the British Armed Forces

To support ex-service personnel, their families and dependants who are in need through financial hardship by assisting in conjunction with our partners the provision of housing and other forms of charitable support.

**Job purpose**

Maintains and enhances the organisation's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, procedures, and practices. Building strong, professional relationships and working closely with line managers. To be first line contact for all staff regarding HR matters

**About You**

This is a key role within the Charity and as such you will be a strong generalist with expereince of complex HR challenges. Ideally within the Charity Retail sector.

Good general IT skills, especially MS Office and Excel

A motivated individual with initiative and a structured approach to work with good organisational skills

Up to date knowledge of Employment Law

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate and communicate effectively at all levels

Excellent inter-personal skills

CIPD level 5 qualification desirable

Able to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines

Outstanding organisational, analytical and time management skills and ability to create effective processes and procedures

Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and use own initiative
