Community Partnerships Locality Lead

London, United Kingdom Islington Council Full time

Are you passionate about eradicating inequalities and harnessing the power of communities?

Can you provide exceptional leadership for an inclusive partnership approach to improve opportunities for local people and put community at the heart of our plans?

Are you a strategic thinker, identifying specific solutions to local challenges and strengthening the involvement of residents in community life?

Bringing partners and communities together across 3 Islington localities is critical to our ambitions for stronger communities and more integrated early intervention and prevention. A key priority is to extend reach into our diverse communities and work with them to enable stronger community voice, better relationships and more responsive delivery.

You will play a key role in the delivery of this through developing and maintaining strong relationships with residents, voluntary and community sector partners as well as emerging grassroots groups; working towards increasing community participation and local activism.

This role calls for an experienced and ambitious leader who can energetically enable the delivery of Islington’s new Community Partnerships Model at a locality level; its vision and approach, and to successfully manage a locality-based team and resources.

You will build strong relationships with community partners, Councillors and departments to translate the vision into a compelling narrative and plan that staff, partners and the community can all unite behind and work together towards delivering.

Can you see yourself in this exciting role with us?

We're determined to make Islington more equal. To create a place where everyone, whatever their background, has the opportunity to reach their potential and enjoy a good quality of life. We also have an ambitious goal - to be the best council in the country - with every employee clear about the part they play and inspired, focused and supported to give their very best. We want to build an organisation where employees feel valued, inspired and empowered to help us achieve our goals and provide the best services possible to our residents.

We want to bring services, assets and people together at locality level to create a more responsive early intervention and prevention offer around strong communities, where regardless of background, people feel safe, connected and have the resources they need to make change in their local areas.

**Closing Date**: Sunday 5th March 2023 at 23:59
