An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as an Administration Assistant. This is a specialist role within the East and West Early Intervention in Psychosis Teams and you will be required to provide a unique, innovative administrative approach in supporting the Team to deliver on the National Clinical Audit of Psychosis ,with particular emphasis on Carer and Family education and support.

This is a fixed one year contract, however, as this is a new role you will have the exciting opportunity to develop the role

This role will be based at Laindon and Rochford, although there is a degree of flexibility and the opportunity to work from home, as appropriate. You may be required to travel and work at other sites as and when required. This is a busy, varied position supporting clinical staff within an admin capacity and also includes some communication with our patients and carers, so you will need to be a compassionate, professionals and personable individual.

Previous experience of working within a mental health clinical setting will be an advantage

Alongside normal administration duties the role will include entering patient family outcomes, maintaining a live carers and families support database and managing a dedicated associated inbox, to ensure quality improvement and comprehensive accurate evidence of service delivered.

You must be able to build effective working relationships both with colleagues from internal Mutli-disciplinary Team as well as partners, stakeholders, patients and their families and carers.

You will be reporting directly to the Clinical Team Leads and Team Managers, as this is an administrative role based within the clinical setting.

The hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday

What is Staff Bank?

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Prepare and send Carers Education and Support packs and information and then follow up with courtesy call to ensure receipt.

Provide focused direct admin support to the Carers Education and Support Lead/s in ensuring all records/evidence of Carers Education and support/activity provided is recorded as appropriate. This will involve maintaining a database, auditing Multi-Disciplinary (MDT) forms and following up with staff - reminding staff to complete any outstanding carers’ records, reporting Audit outcomes to Team Leads/Managers, to inform further improvement.

To exchange confidential and/or sensitive information between staff, patients, and carers in person or on the telephone. The unpredictability of patients means that persuasive, reassuring, emphatic, skills are required at all times.

Deal with queries raised by patients, relatives, GP’s or other healthcare professionals both internally and externally to the trust. These are often of a non-routine nature and involving complex issues such as medication and other clinical treatments where there are barriers to understanding due to the nature of the client group.
