Import and Customs Compliance Officer

**The duties**:

- Coordination of import freight operations
- Preparation of instructions for Import clearance
- Accurately entering Import entries for import duty & VAT declarations into Langdon’s duty management system (CSDP/IPR)
- Import procedures including CSDP, IPR and general Import procedures
- Maintenance and Renewal of customs authorisations
- Maintenance of Customs comprehensive Guarantees
- UK and International customs regulations compliance
- Liaison with warehouse regarding space for multiple containerised shipments arriving on site
- Arranging offsite storage as and when required
- Arranging shipments from suppliers to ensure arrival in line with PO requirements
- Liaising with suppliers and keeping Apex goods inwards system updated with delivery dates
- Maintenance of CSDP (Excel) spreadsheet with Import entry references for audit purposes
- Monthly CSDP reporting to HMRC CDS system and AMG Accounts Department
- IP Reporting to HMRC on a quarterly basis
- Maintenance of records to allow full audit trails
- Ensuring correct duty codes are used for customs clearance
- Maintaining our AEO status. Coordination of AEO audits and maintenance of AEO standards
- Maintenance of standard operational procedures and service level agreements with suppliers
- Maintain relationship and correspondence with HMRC and 3rd parties
- UK & International customs classification
- Responsible for HMRC audits

**What you will need**:

- Working knowledge and experience of shipping procedures, incoterms, Customs Tariff
- 3+ years experience in a global shipping environment (International & European imports)
- Experience with Inward Processing relief customs regime (IPR)
- Experience with Customs Freight simplified procedures (CSDP)
