At the Crown Prosecution Service, we’re responsible for delivering justice through the independent and effective prosecution of crime. We’re the principal prosecuting authority across England and Wales - prosecuting criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations.

**Job description**

Your responsibilities are:

- to prepare cases for court, supporting our legal teams to operate effectively and efficiently
- to ensure all work is produced to a high standard, reflecting the values of the Crown Prosecution Service
- to ensure information received is recorded accurately to be easily retrieved and accessed by the team
- to provide excellent customer service when dealing with enquiries so that the public and stakeholders can have confidence in the work of the Crown Prosecution Service
- to carry out other related tasks when requested by a prosecutor, in support of your team’s work.

**Apprenticeship**

Your apprenticeship allows you to build skills and knowledge through work-based learning whilst in your casework assistant role. You study, write assignments and carry out assessments. After successfully completing your apprenticeship you gain a recognised qualification of level 3 in customer service.

You’re directly supported during your apprenticeship with a tutor or skills coach who provides you with guidance and advice to help you successfully pass your apprenticeship programme. You’re allocated a minimum of 6 hours each week to carry out your apprenticeship work and learning if you’re doing a 30 hours or more working week (full time or nearly full time working).

**Person specification**
- be at least 18 years of age
- hold GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English at grade 4/C. If you don’t already hold these, you can complete them as part of your apprenticeship.
