Community Engagement Officer

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Engagement Officer to join the Locality Impact directorate and lead on Engagement in the East of England area.

**Position**: S11136 Engagement Officer

**Location**: Homebased, East of England with frequent travel required, including for community events, networking activities, external stakeholder meetings and team meetings

**Hours**: Full-time, 35 hours per week (flexible working available)

**Salary**: Circa £26,900 per annum

**Contract**: Permanent

**The Role**

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues and partners across the locality to deliver against engagement activity, including supporting the development of the Stroke Group Network, and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including groups, partners, stroke survivors and carers in the locality.

As part of our Engagement team, your role will be to develop the local community presence across the East of England but with particular focus in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridge and Peterborough. Developing awareness of the Association and engagement with the Stroke community. Establishing connections with communities that are currently under-engaged with to support the development of needs led life after stroke support.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Listening to and understanding the aspirations and priorities of individuals and organisations within communities, building relationships and partnering with them to make positive changes for people affected by stroke within communities.
- Building and maintaining key relationships with key stakeholders
- Enabling peer support and self-sustaining stroke communities to flourish in the locality
- Providing management to volunteers
- Supporting delivery of a localised approach to addressing health inequalities
- Volunteer recruitment
- Insight and Evaluation
- Supporting delivery against the East of Engagement plan

**About You**

You will have experience/understanding of:

- Working in partnership with other organisations, ideally in voluntary, health and social care
- Involvement and developing support using Co-Production
- Community Development
- Recruiting, managing and developing volunteers
- Supporting groups and developing networks
