- Job description- With the high levels of customer queries, MP correspondence, FOIs, complaints and a growing number of local opposition groups we are looking for two individuals (one to focus on regulated industry issues across the five waste and three installations teams and the other to support Water, Land & Biodiversity teams) to act as communication and engagement specialists reducing the burden on officers.
To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator, highly organised and able to use your technical knowledge to explain complex issues to various audiences.
Working with teams, you will develop a suite of briefing notes and FAQs that can be used across the Area and adapted for individual sites/catchments and circumstances as well as responding to customer complaints.
You will become competent at using our staged complaints procedure to manage customers and workloads.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The posts are full-time although requests for other work patterns will be considered.
The team- You will work closely with either the Regulated Industry teams or the Water, Land and Biodiversity teams (mainly Land & Water teams). Your work will be determined by the AEMs and TLs of those respective functions and be based on the current contentious issues and resource gaps.
Experience/skills required- As an Environment Management Engagement Specialist, you will bring a positive, enthusiastic, collaborative and organised approach which will provide much needed support to our very busy regulatory teams. You will develop close working relationships internally and externally and identify proactive opportunities to innovate and streamline how we engage with and respond to communities.

It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had considerable experience of Environment Management activities and a working knowledge of how we regulate, respond to incidents and respond to complaints.
