**Job Title**: Community Engagement Coordinator
**Salary**:up to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
**Contract Type**: Permanent
**Working Hours**: 37.5 hrs per week

**Responsible to**: Director of Impact, Research & Evaluation

**What you will be doing?**

As a Community Engagement Coordinator Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating the development of the Bedford Recovery Community and expand the range of opportunities for people with lived experience of addiction to support the development of local policy and local services. You will be responsible for ensuring opportunities for service user involvement, and peer mentoring remain integral to our service.

You will work in partnership with staff, volunteers, and the people we support to guarantee that we maintain a high-quality service which meets the needs of those engaged.

**What we are looking for?**
- Experience of setting targets and monitoring performance of staff and/or volunteers.
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with partner organisations and developing contacts and networks across a wide range of local services.
- Ability to develop reports to showcase the impact of the Recovery Community.
- A good understanding of the challenges that people in recovery face.
- A good understanding of how to develop and coordinate activities and interventions which support people in recovery/or which help people sustain recovery.
- High level of relationship skills: Empathy; caring; acceptance; mutual affirmation; supportive and can give constructive feedback to support continuous personal and professional development of volunteers.
- Lived or learned experience of the common issues faced by people with alcohol / substance misuse problems.
- Strong belief in change and a desire to support people to make positive lifestyle choices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise own workload and work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability to changing and emerging needs as the project develops demonstrating flexibility and resilience in challenging situations.
- Experience of data collection, administration and recording procedures with the ability to maintain case notes and volunteer HR notes on a bespoke database.
- Full driving licence, own car and business insurance is essential.
