People Assistant
We're looking for a customer focused HR Administrator to support our busy People Service Centre where you’ll play a key part in supporting the organisation with the whole end-to-end employee lifecycle. If you are inquisitive, solutions-led and you'd like to join a fantastic team, then this could be the role for you.
Please note contractually you'll be known as a People Assistant.
What it's like to work here:We’re bigger than you think, we’re more complicated than we appear and we’re larger scale than you’d imagine. We’ve got passionate people in our teams, and we’ve got so much more we want to achieve. We’re for ever, for everyone and we really mean that.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with colleagues, stakeholders and to carry out work.
What you'll be doing:You'll be working in our People Service Centre, administering People processes for all employee lifecycle activities, including new starters, leavers, transfers and other con-tractual changes. You'll be responsible for end-to-end transactional processing and maintaining employee records using the HRIS Oracle Platform.
As well as our permanent staff, the National Trust hires several thousand fixed-term colleagues each year to help us cope with our busiest periods. So, as part of your role, you'll coach and support managers in order to encourage good practice and eliminate breaches of policy, providing a professional, customer focussed response with the aim of minimising complaints whilst adhering to agreed service levels and policies. The People Service Centre is “one team” so you’ll need to be flexible and work on other people-related activities when required.
Who we're looking forYou can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience of working in a HR environment
- Good at working collaboratively to deliver business outcomes
- Solution finding skills and can use established processes to find pragmatic answers
- Ability to confidently manage sensitive and confidential employee information
The packageThe National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
- Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
- Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
- Tax free childcare scheme
- Rental deposit loan scheme
- Season ticket loan
- Perks at work discounts i.e. gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
- Flexible working whenever possible
- Employee assistance programme
- Free parking at most locations
- Independent financial advice
