**The role**

This is a unique but rewarding role where the Personal Finance Service (PFS) provides financial protection for people who have been assessed under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 as lacking the capacity to do so themselves. The role will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective casework service for people.

The role includes engagement and collaboration with numerous internal and external stakeholders, delivering the best outcomes on behalf of Camden’s people. As well as making decisions regarding the management of an individual’s finances, that can have a significant ongoing impact on their lives.

This role is complex and can often be working in situations whereby the approach is not straightforward and requires careful consideration of the legislation and guidance.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who has a positive, person-centered approach to working with individuals (and their care providers) who may have challenging behaviours and present with complex situations. As well as someone who is proficient in various IT packages such as Mainframe databases, Mosaic, Northgate, ASH, CASPAR and Oracle. Knowledge or experience of welfare benefits would be an advantage.

It would be beneficial if you have knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014, Safeguarding Adults procedures and have the ability to give clear and concise advice on finance and case management to people managed by the service, social workers and other care staff.

This role would be perfect for someone with organisational experience to meet deadlines. Together with good financial administrative skills including ability to problem solve, respond proactively to requests, enquiries and prioritise work.
