COMMUNICATION AND LIAISON 1.Contribute to the teams engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including staff, women and their families, their careers, and other statutory and voluntary sector agencies. 2.Impart complex and sensitive information to: a.Women and their families/carers re assessment, care planning, treatment, and review b.Primary care teams regarding womens care c.Multi-disciplinary teams within the womens hospital and LWSW to ensure the provision of consistent well-coordinated care. d.External agencies also involved in the provision of care e.g.: voluntary and private sector, police, social services, housing, employment etc. e.Relevant community groups 3.Liaise with a wide range of other professionals and agencies.

4.Contribute to the safe and effective day to day operations of the service including the handling of clinical enquires. 5.Present information some of which may be contentious to women and their families/carers. Ensure equality of access to services for all women paying particular attention to diversity issues and women from hard-to-reach groups. CLINICAL 1.Maintain a caseload of appropriate clients.

2.Responsible for developing care packages including assessing, planning, intervention and evaluation. Ensuring active involvement of women and their families 3.Triage referrals by assessing and advising on eligibility criteria. 4.Provide specialist advice to referrers/other multi-disciplinary staff in relation to the care of the client. 5.Participate in all aspects of safeguarding including safeguarding children to level 3 as set out in safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.

PROFESSIONAL 1.Attend management and professional meetings as directed by their line manager and professional lead. 2.Responsible for planning and coordinating own day to day workload in collaboration with the needs of women and their families and the wider needs of the service. 3.Plan and organise case conferences liaising with other agencies as required to meet the needs of women and their families. 4.Ensure that interventions are planned in an integrated and coordinated manner particularly where dependent on other external agencies.

5.Participate in programs of audit and research within the team and implement the findings. 6.Contribute to professional clinical governance arrangements in order to ensure the quality of the service provided. 7.Participate in the development of Mental Health Services. 8.Maintain up to date client records in a timely and accurate manner.

9.Practice in a way that actively minimises dependency and promotes recovery. 10.Communicate information in a way that makes it relevant and understandable for of women and their families, working to the principles of the functions policy implementation guidelines and practice in line with the standards and values set out in them. 11.Contribute to the development of standards for the perinatal mental health service. 12.Aim to uphold the principles and approach of CPA, whether people are formally in CPA or not.

13.Work co-operatively with staff colleagues including accepting staff recent assessment of the client, if the client is transferred to them, in order to minimise the disruption to the client. 14.Ensure a duty of care to your patients and clients, who are entitled to receive safe and competent care. The womans wishes, feelings, values and beliefs should be taken into consideration as well as the views of the people close to them. 15.Take personal accountability for your own practice.

This means that you are answerable for your actions and omissions, regardless of advice or directions from another professional. 16.Ensure that you remain professionally competent by participating in your own and others clinical supervision. EDUCATION AND TRAINING 1.To assume responsibility for own personal development. 2.Identify training needs via mode of PDP.

3.To ensure Livewell SW mandatory training is completed at scheduled times. 4.Attend regular CPD events. 5.Maintain Professional registration. HUMAN RESOURCES 1.Provide clinical supervision for a number of qualified staff.

2.Periodically co-ordinate the activity of the team and facilitate handover meetings. 3.Mentor students allocated to the team.
