St Margaret’s Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to join their team. This role can be based in Taunton or Yeovil with remote working options available. You will join us on a full time, fixed term contract and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £34,000 per annum.

**About the role**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced advisor to take up a senior position within our small but busy advisory team, to play a key role in helping us deliver the very best people practices across all areas of the Hospice.
Under the guidance of the HR Manager you will put your professional expertise in employee relations, performance management and attendance into practice, guiding and coaching colleagues, managers and staff members in best practice and in line with legislation and policy. You will also be managing your own case work, some of which may be complex.

**Responsibilities as our Senior HR Advisor will include**:
- Receive and triage potential Employee relation queries advising on the most appropriate course of action in line with employment law and organisational policy.
- Support the HR advisors to manage a wide range of Employee relations issues, completing all associated activities and proactively managing any ongoing cases.
- Manage complex ER issues.
- Mitigate potential risks to the Hospice by identifying high-risk situations, and/or those carrying reputational damage and implementing appropriate measures.
- Build Management capability through coaching and advice.
- Review as appropriate policies and procedures in line with lessons learned or changes in practice whether driven by external regulation or internal decision-making.
- Ensure case files and documents relating to employee matters are managed sensitively and held securely particularly during the transition of systems and ways of working as the new HRIS is implemented.
- Act as a role model of good practice, continually reviewing practices and outcomes in order to improve.
- Respond to queries and resolve them where possible, escalating more complex matters to the HR Manager where necessary.
- Acting as initial escalation point for HR colleagues.
