Manchester, United Kingdom Arup Full time

**Launch your career with Arup**:
Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of designers, consultants and experts working globally. Founded to be humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigour to shape a better world.

From your first day you'll join a welcoming community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients.

**Our Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships**:
Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a college, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships have a typical duration of three years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

**What we're looking for**:
We're looking for apprentices that are curious about the built and natural environment and are committed to their personal development. We'll teach you the skills and technical knowledge that you need for a rewarding career in design and professional services, where you'll be part of a collaborative team that delivers excellence for our clients.

**You should be available to start this opportunity no later than September 2023.**

**Civil Engineering Apprenticeship**

You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. You'll work on a wide range of projects - from roads and pavements to car parks, drainage, and earthworks, flood defence, dams & reservoirs and water treatment works. Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes, and could involve highways, bridges, and rail schemes. You could also get involved in the computer modelling and drawing of access roads, civil structures, bridges and utility infrastructure.

You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards a Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering with one of our local partner colleges.

**Transport Planning Apprenticeship**

As Transport Planners our work engages with all modes of transport, from walking and cycling to rail planning, station design and airport access across the UK and globally. Our apprentices work across all aspects of our business, including but not limited to:

- Preliminary access and operational design advice
- Large-scale data analysis using a range of industry standard software
- Strategic transport advice for commercial and public sector clients
- Strategic and local transport modelling, including pedestrian and traffic simulation modelling
- Rail operations and planning
- Stadium operations and event planning
- National and regionally significant infrastructure projects

Our transport planning experts work side by side with specialists from a wide range of backgrounds, including environmental, planning and civil engineering. Many of our projects are boundary pushing and nationally significant.

We work hard to foster good relationships with everyone involved in the planning process - including national governments, regional partnerships or agencies, local planning authorities and developers as well the wider community and stakeholders.

**What we offer you**:
Beyond a great salary and stimulating work, Arup offers a range of additional benefits to its people. As a membership organisation, everyone shares in our success through a global profit share scheme. Our people also have access to a range of broader wellbeing benefits.

You'll have access to lots of learning opportunities including a structured Welcome Programme and ongoing development through Arup University.

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to utilise your skills to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in the communities in which we live and work through Arup's Community Engagement programme.

**Next steps**:
