**Job description**:
The Assistant Head (AH) Contract Change is the lead on strategic customer and supplier relationships through contract changes ensuring they drive improvement and value within the business. Leading and planning for contract's expiry is a key main focus of the role.

AH Contract Change will have in place appropriate regimes ensuring the incumbent contractors meet their legal and contractual outputs to support the Defence and site needs. As a team, we will ensure new contractors are aware of their responsibilities following contract award. In addition, we will work with the customers and Suppliers to develop effective demobilisation and mobilisation plans and critical paths/activities to meet the changing and evolving needs of the business.

You are also part of the SE Region and PFI management team. As such you play a vital leadership role, with the other Grade 7s in the Region in supporting your Grade 6s and the Head of SERP to build and develop a successful region

Supporting the Deputy Head Contract Change as a member of the management team in ensuring effective operation of SERP in delivering the business plan, and building a diverse, inclusive, and capable team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- As the deputy chair of the SERP Contract Change Committee you will set the direction for upcoming contract changes within SERP, ensuring alignment between the DIO and SERP plans and customer needs.
- Promote a positive and proactive working environment within SERP and with key enabling functions (commercial and finance) as well as other teams across DIO and MOD.
- Assist with developing our team and individuals to build capability and ensure appropriate succession and resilience plans are in place.
Maintain strategic level relationship with the TLB (Top Level Budget) Infra Branches to ensure ongoing understanding of the customer's needs.
- Attend and chair customer liaison meetings as the need arises. Attendance at the relevant Contract Change meetings across DIO RD (or delegation of) is a key engagement.
- Working with SERP to develop a plan to motivate change and improvement to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in delivering our outputs.
- Build and develop a culture of continuous improvement across SERP to empower staff to identify and make improvements in process, technology, and capability.
- Assist in leading the Contract Change programme. Ensure a clear strategy and approach is in place that enables each contract/ project to be effectively and efficiently led to expiry.
- Produce and supervise benefits realisation and LFE (Learning from Experience) following change in contracts to ensure we continually evolve our business to meet the needs of the customer base.
- Continuous Improvement plans to be developed and supervised throughout life of contracts.
- JRMPs (Joint Relationship Management Plan) to be developed and supervised throughout life of contracts.

**Essential Experience & Skills**
- Extensive experience of managing large or complex contracts, ideally on a portfolio basis, and change management processes.
- Experience of operating Asset and Facilities Management contracts and sites.

**Desirable Experience & Skills**
- Experience of Government contracts.
