**The role**:
We are looking to recruit a Send Support Worker (Migrants) whose main purpose and key duties are to continue to provide information, support and guidance to parents of newly arrived children with SEND. It will also entail advocating for children and young people in their own right as required. A vital aspect of the post is to promote good communication links with migrants and providers of SEND provision throughout Oxfordshire.

**Key Responsibilities of the SEND Support Worker**:

- Face to Face support with new migrant arrivals and in schools where they need advice (largely due to new elements of lack of English and cultural differences in providing for SEND)
- Preparing copy for the website, including supporting translation of copy for migrant home languages
- Be a member of the Migrant Partnership Team, working with various SEND teams including SEND EY, SEND school Transport, etc
- Supporting migrants with SEND - schools, special schools, specialist units, SEND entitlement, access to provision, understanding nuances of cultural differences, supporting access to special school transport, holiday provision, respite care, EHCP, and OCC SEND teams, school-based Enrichment, clubs activities (both in school and in the community), including voluntary providers
- The creation of a much simplified version of all relevant parental educational guidance for newly arrived migrants

**Applicant Requirements of the SEND Support Worker**:

- A minimum of 2 years SEND experience.
- Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
- Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
