**Job Title**: Nurture Mentor - Children & Young People

**Salary Range**: £30,158 - £36,327 (Base salary of £24,918 - £31,087 plus bonuses and benefits)

**Location**: Oxford, Oxfordshire

**Role Overview**:
As a Nurture Mentor, you will play a vital role in our dedicated team, providing essential support to both residents and fellow staff members within a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to support children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH), and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) needs, creating a warm and inclusive home environment where every child feels valued and supported.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Foster a warm and inclusive home environment that promotes the well-being and development of each resident, particularly those with SEMH and EBD needs.
- Provide individualized care and support, both academically and emotionally, to residents facing learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, social, or physical disabilities.
- Implement personalized strategies and interventions to support students' social and emotional development, adapting activities and utilizing appropriate resources.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, external specialists, and families to create personalized care plans for each resident.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, contributing to the home's inclusive and supportive ethos.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous experience in a caregiving or support role with children and young people is essential.
- Previous experience working with children with complex needs, particularly SEMH and EBD, ideally within a residential or similar setting.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with diverse needs.
- Must be able to work on a rota and work sleep-in shifts.

- Bonuses: In addition to your base salary you’ll do up to 4 sleep ins per month, these are paid at £80 per sleep (approx. £3,840 per year) and £1,400 Attendance Allowance - assuming good attendance.
