Medical Receptionist

**About the Role**:
Constable Country Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist, working across both our sites at East Bergholt & Capel St Mary, on a part-time basis, the hours are to be discussed at interview.
In this vital role you will be ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice by completing the following duties:
- Answering the telephone in a polite & professional manner with a focus on supporting patients to access the appointment most suited to their needs & responding to all queries in a timely manner, & take messages as appropriate.
- Efficient use of the appointment system, including correct appointment/times, recording sufficient & accurate information.
- Liaising between clinical, admin staff, patients, & other agencies to carry out appropriate tasks. - Completing tasks in a timely manner, accurately & ensuring actions are communicated between patients & other agencies, reporting any issues to leads or practice management.
- Actioning prescription requests accurately, timely & in line with policy.
- Providing results to patients on request of clinicians, giving basic information
- Escalating any additional requests for information to an appropriate clinical member of the team.
- Giving & receiving specimens, following the strict procedures in place.
- Advising patients of charges for services, accepting payment & issuing receipts.
- Ensuring areas are kept tidy & reporting all health & safety issues to an appropriate member of staff.
We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community.
You will need to have the following skills:
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use computer based systems.
- Excellent communication skills both written and orally.
- Excellent social skills.
- A friendly and positive approach towards patients, colleagues and other visitors either in person or over the telephone.
