Accounts & Payroll Assistant

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an **Accounts & Payroll Assistant** to join us at our busy Enfield operation that we run on behalf of our customer, Iceland. Your main focus will be the responsibility for the sales and purchase ledgers, building strong relationships with stakeholders on site and central purchasing, AR and AP teams. In addition, you will support the payroll function, processing payroll for approximately 600 colleagues weekly.
You’ll be working Monday to Friday 8am till 4pm with alternative weekend cover, this is logistics after all
**Pay, benefits and more**:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to **£27,000 per annum**. In addition, we offer 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. **What you’ll do on a typical day**:
- Managing Sales & Purchase Ledger, raising & receipting POs, dealing with suppliers, new Supplier set up
- Credit card reconciliations, maintaining the PO log for weekly reporting
- Raising invoices weekly, processing expenses and weekly Fuel reconciliations
- Supporting the weekly payroll, entering Bonus, updating absence tracker, checking timecards are all approved and error free
**What you need to succeed at GXO**:
- Previous experience and knowledge of payroll and financial processes, able to process weekly payroll on your own
- Confidence in the use of a variety of IT systems, such as financial, time & attendance and Microsoft Office
- The ability to plan and organise your workload effectively, meeting specific deadlines and provide holiday cover if required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
