**Job summary**:
Radiotherapy at University Hospital Birmingham is a large outpatient department based at the Queen Elizabeth site in both the Heritage building and the new Harborne Hospital building. This amazing team provide first class care to over 250 cancer patients every day who rely on us to support them during their treatment.

As demands on this service grows, we need to expand the front of house team to best support our clinical colleagues in the delivery of this critical care.

As a key member of this team, you will see a varied workload of administration and patient care duties to include providing a comprehensive and efficient reception and booking service. An adaptable approach with the ability to prioritise an ever-changing workload whilst maintaining a caring and helpful attitude underpins everything we do.

The role includes providing care and support to our patients. This includes some personal care for patients who need it which includes assisting with toileting, manual handling but also escorting patients around the department, answering their queries and liaising with ambulance services. The role also involves contributing to the smooth running of the department e.g. unloading stock, checking and tidying the linen and waiting areas. In addition, the role involves working on a busy reception desk and some administrative duties such as clinic bookings.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
Option A) 30 hours / week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12noon - 6pm (or on occasion 2pm - 8pm depending on service needs),

Option B) 22.5 hours/ week - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3 x 7.5 hour days, 10am - 6pm (or on occasion 12noon - 8pm)

Option C) 37.5 hours / week in a compressed working week of 8am - 6pm (with an occasional 10am - 8pm) per day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday's.

All options require a flexible approach to the working hours of between 7.30am to 8pm - this in turn will make a difference to those patients and families who count on us during very difficult times.
