Here at The Isle of Wight College we work with a number of employers, in a vast array of industries. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for Storeroom2010 as a Business Administration Apprentice.

Located on the bustling Somerton industrial estate in Cowes, Storeroom2010 is a small independent furniture re-use charity organisation whose aim is to enable impoverished and disadvantaged families to be able to affordably furnish their homes, thereby improving their quality of life.

Storeroom2010 enables Island residents to recycle, help their community and their local environment too. Rather excitingly and due to previous apprentice success, they are now looking for an enthusiastic, motivated apprentice to join their small friendly team to work on a variety of administrative tasks, whilst working towards an Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

Tasks and Responsibilities within the office will include:

- Input sales and donation paperwork data onto excel sheets
- Prepare any relevant paperwork for drivers
- Deal with incoming phone calls and messages
- Book collection and delivery jobs onto driver’s sheets
- Deal with all queries / complaints in a professional manner
- Ensure adequate printed stationary is always available to shop, office and drivers. Advise manager when stationary is low and needs re-ordering
- Advertise stock online - places such as Wightbay & Facebook
- Help locate relevant information/paperwork for both shop staff and customers
- Help keep office area tidy
- Keep all office electrical devices updates i.e sat navs

Tasks and Responsibilities in the shop area:
When you are quiet in the office, you should always offer your help in the shop/warehouse.
- Welcoming customers and providing them with advice on the charities products and services
- Ensure delivery paperwork is filled in properly and all boxes are completed with as much as information as possible
- Arrange delivery and collection dates with the customers and office
- Arrange products on the display shelves,
- Process payments
- Perform regular price/sold audits against our online adverts
- Addressing and resolving customers complaints in a professional manner
- Help keep the shop and warehouse clean
- Check outstanding paperwork. If any paperwork needs chasing up, advise shop manager
- Stock rotation. Look around for items of ‘shop quality’ to fill those spaces (liaise with shop manager)

End of month duties:
As a re-use Charity we are expected to provide figures each month, the end of month tasks will involve helping the office team to gain these figures. List of tasks are provided each month.

- Qualifications Required:

- GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent qualification and/or ability to work towards these Functional Skills if not previously achieved.)

Apprenticeship:

- Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
- Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.
- There is a requirement to complete 6 hours per week of off the job training, this includes time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work that is not in your usual role.

Working Week:

- 35 hours a week.
- 5 days a week.
- Tuesday to Saturday 8.45am until 4.15pm.

Wage:
£6.40 per hour

Apprenticeship duration will be around 12 - 18 months.
