Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Specialist
Location: Isle of Wight – Cowes
Salary: Up to £39,550 based on skills and experience
Role Overview:
- You will take charge of the assembly, repair, and enhancement of mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems.
- You will perform repairs and modifications on both current and legacy products.
- Provide technical assistance to Engineers engaged in design and development tasks.
- Utilize business systems and processes to document and ensure compliance.
- Support the development of apprentices and other team members.
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Comprehensive understanding of assembly disciplines, including detailed fitting, fabrication, and gearbox assembly.
- Proficiency in interpreting and adhering to tolerances from engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety principles.
Desirable:
- Commitment to Lean Principles with the ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience operating Forklift trucks, OHGC, MEWP, or working at heights.
