Hours: 25 - 37 hours per week.
Salary: Comparable to similar roles in this sector. G ood pension scheme and holiday allowance .
Our Coding Team isreally knowledgeable, supportive, and keen to develop individualsskills/experience. They work to a protocol that is regularly reviewed so thatthe process is safe and effective. After a training period you may be able towork some of your hours remotely, providing you have your own computer.
To thrive in thisrole, you will enjoy lots of data entry, summarising and analysis to understandthe implications of what you are coding, filing or forwarding to GPs. You will need to develop a broadunderstanding of General Practice, and an in depth knowledge of medicalterminology, coding and clinical coding process (with on-the-job and external trainingsupport).

Job responsibilities
Code letters and relevant correspondence into the Practicemedical computer system, and forward to the appropriate person as per theprotocol.
Enter coded information accurately and consistently.
To observe complete confidentiality at all times.
Input patient information into computer:
Convert relevant diagnostic and procedural details into alpha-numeric codes.
Use base knowledge of anatomical and physiological terms to find relevant Codes.
Enter coded information accurately and consistently.
Summarise patient notes (paper and electronic) onto the clinical computer system.
Collect information, print prescriptions, copy invoices and make financial claims, at the appropriate time, for the supply of drugs and appliances.
Perform annual stocktaking in conjunction with the above.
To observe complete confidentiality at all times.
To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by yourline manager, the GPs or Business/Practice Manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
Minimum of English GCSE C or equivalent. Evidence of Medical terminology training. Evidence of Read Code training.
Desirable
Touch typing. Word processing qualification.
Experience
Essential
12 months+ experience in clinical coding. Knowledge of anatomical terms. Good IT skills - able to use Microsoft office & learn how to use new applications.
Desirable
Experience of summarising. Experience within Primary Care. Previous knowledge of SystmOne.
