Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Specialist

Location: Isle of Wight – Cowes

Salary: Up to £39,550 based on skills and experience

Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Assembly Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the assembly, repair, and enhancement of mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the quality and functionality of both current and legacy products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assembly, repair, and modification tasks on mechanical components and systems.
  • Provide support and technical assistance to Engineers engaged in design and development.
  • Maintain compliance by utilizing business systems and processes for documentation.
  • Mentor and support the development of apprentices and junior personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of assembly disciplines, including detailed fitting, fabrication, and gearbox assembly.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and working to specified tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Lean Principles and the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Experience operating Forklift trucks, OHGC, MEWP, or working at height.
